Injury blow for Schalke's Baumjohann

German Bundesliga outfit FC Schalke 04 will be without the services of 18-year-old midfield player Alexander Baumjohann for the next two months.
German Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04 will be without midfielder Alexander Baumjohann for two months.

Out of action
The 18-year-old has torn ligaments in his right ankle and is expected to be unavailable for Schalke's opening two matches in the UEFA Champions League group stage, on 13/14 and 27/28 September.

Debut campaign
The German youth international is in his first professional season with Schalke and is yet to appear in the Bundesliga. He joined the Gelsenkirchen team in 1999 and has a contract until the summer of 2007.
