Liverpool add promising youngsters

Liverpool FC have further strengthened their squad by signing Austrian winger Besian Idrizaj and Wales Under-21 striker Ramon Calliste.

Two-year contract
The 17-year-old Idrizaj has agreed a two-year contract to join from Linzer ASK, where he was voted Austria's Young Player of the Year. "It is a dream come true," he said. "If you get a chance to go to Liverpool then you have to take it. I would even have swum across the Channel just to take part."

United exit
Calliste, 19, has been given a one-year deal, having been released by Manchester United FC at the end of last season. He impressed during a recent trial at Anfield, and scored in a reserve match against Newcastle United FC last week.

Potter stays on
Meanwhile, midfielder Darren Potter has been handed a new three-year contract after breaking into the Reds' first-team squad. The 20-year-old is an Irish Under-21 international.
