Porto pick up Sparta's Cech

FC Porto have secured the services of Slovakian international left-back Marek Cech from AC Sparta Praha for an undisclosed fee.
FC Porto have landed Slovakian international left-back Marek Cech from AC Sparta Praha for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract and arrives at the Estádio do Dragão to replace Nuno Valente, who was sold to Everton FC on Sunday.

Czech champion
Cech, who can also play in midfield, joined Sparta from AŠK Inter Bratislava at the start of last season and helped the Prague club to the 2004/05 Czech title. He made 38 appearances, including seven in the UEFA Champions League. Porto will take on FC Internazionale Milano, Rangers FC and FC Artmedia Bratislava in Group H of this season's competition.
