United reward Fletcher and O'Shea

Manchester United FC have handed new contracts to midfielder Darren Fletcher and defender John O'Shea, but there is bad news for Kieran Richardson.
Manchester United FC have extended the contracts of Scotland midfielder Darren Fletcher and Republic of Ireland defender John O'Shea until 2009.

Fully established
The 21-year-old Fletcher and 24-year-old O'Shea have both come through the Old Trafford youth system and established themselves in Sir Alex Ferguson's first-team squad. Meanwhile, another United youngster Kieran Richardson has been ruled out for at least a fortnight with a thigh injury. The 20-year-old has been deputising for Gabriel Heinze at left-back.
