Rangers FC forward Thomas Buffel will miss the rest of their UEFA Champions League Group H campaign after being sidelined for two months with a knee injury.
Out of Celtic matchesThe 24-year-old former Feyenoord player was injured on international duty with Belgium against Spain last Saturday. As well as sitting out European games against FC Artmedia Bratislava, FC Porto and FC Internazionale Milano, Buffel will also skip next month's Scottish Premier League and Scottish League Cup double-header against Glasgow rivals Celtic FC.
'Top player'
Rangers manager Alex McLeish said: "It's a blow because you don't want to lose any players. He is a top international who has excelled in the Champions League. It's a loss but we have to get on with it and look forward."
