Homegrown players Ricardo Costa, Bruno Alves and Hugo Almeida have all extended their FC Porto contracts until 2010.

Loan spells
The talented trio came through the ranks at the Estádio do Dragão, although Bruno Alves and Hugo Almeida were respectively loaned to AEK Athens FC and Boavista FC last season to gain experience. Ricardo Costa, 24, said: "I think this new deal reflects the confidence Porto have in me. I'm going to give everything to help the club win even more titles."

'Wonderful feeling'
The 23-year-old Bruno Alves spoke of his pride at re-signing, while Hugo Almeida, leading scorer in qualifying for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, added: "I feel wonderful here and it's rewarding to know that people pay attention to what we do." Porto could move from the bottom of UEFA Champions League Group H to the top if they win at FC Internazionale Milano on Tuesday.
