French defenders Olivier Bernard and Julien Rodriguez are the latest names to join the casualty list at Scottish champions Rangers FC.

French defenders Olivier Bernard and Julien Rodriguez are the latest names to join the casualty list at Scottish champions Rangers FC.

Decisive matches
Left-back Bernard suffered knee cartilage damage during last week's 2-0 defeat against Celtic FC in the Scottish League Cup while centre-back Rodriguez picked up an ankle ligament injury. Both players will be unavailable for the next three games which could decide the future of manager Alex McLeish.

Major fixtures
The upcoming fixtures see the Scottish champions play Glasgow rivals Celtic FC in this Saturday's Old Firm game, followed by their penultimate UEFA Champions League Group H game against FC Porto on Wednesday. The two defenders are unlikely to be fit for Rangers' subsequent league at third-placed Hibernian FC.

Injury list
Thomas Buffel, Nacho Novo and Federico Nieto are already sidelined with injuries as the Ibrox club aim to close the 12 point gap between them and leaders Celtic, but French midfielder Brahim Hemdani should be available for the Old Firm derby having shaken off a thigh injury.
