'Three weeks off'
The France winger sustained the injury during last weekend's 2-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain FC. Malouda played on after receiving the knock but was eventually withdrawn a minute from time. "He will need three weeks off," said Lyon doctor Bernard Moyen.
Winter break
Malouda, who took no part in Tuesday's 2-1 UEFA Champions League victory against Rosenborg BK, is therefore ruled out for the remainder of the year. Lyon have a three-week break after their home game against LOSC Lille Métropole on 16 December. The 25-year-old has earmarked Lyon's return to action against RC Strasbourg on 4 January for his comeback.
