Madrid keen to show off Cicinho

Cicinho has been unveiled by Real Madrid CF after passing his medical in the Spanish capital, with the 25-year-old right-back ready "to give my best".

Club champion
The 25-year-old right-back will begin his five-year contract on 1 January, having completed his €4m move from world club champions São Paulo FC in his homeland. Cicinho was also part of the Brazil squad that won the FIFA Confederations Cup last summer.

No injuries
"We saw six months ago that his medical condition is very good and there was no change in that," Madrid doctor Alfonso del Corral said. "He is fast and has never suffered a significant injury." Cicinho will meet his new team-mates when Madrid return to training today after the Christmas break.

Brazilian blend
He said: "I have come to give my best. It's the coach who decides who plays, I have to do my work on the field." He becomes the fifth Brazilian international in the Madrid squad, joining Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Julio Baptista and Robinho, and can be registered for the UEFA Champions League.
