Peña pens new Villarreal deal

The Villarreal CF central defender Juan Manuel Peña has ended speculation surrounding his future with the Spanish club by signing a one-season contract extension.

The 33-year-old Bolivian arrived at El Madrigal from Real Valladolid in the summer of 2004 on a two-year contract and spent his first season in and out of the team. This term, however, he has flourished alongside Gonzalo Rodríguez and Quique Álvarez, helping Villarreal into the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, where they will play Rangers FC over two legs.
