Internazionale FC will be without defender Fabio Cannavaro for the vital UEFA Champions League Group D match against AFC Ajax in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

Udinese absence
The Italian international missed Inter's 2-1 defeat by Udinese Calcio on Saturday due to a muscle strain and was not named in the 20-man squad for the Ajax match announced on Sunday.

Sorely missed
The former Parma AC defender's absence was sorely felt on Saturday as Inter fell to their first defeat of the Serie A season. Without the Naples-born central defender, Marco Materazzi looks set to partner Colombian Iván Cordoba in the centre of the Inter defence.

Tense finale
Inter lead the group and a draw in Amsterdam would be enough for Héctor Cúper's side to qualify for the second group stage, but defeat could lead to their demise if Olympique Lyonnais pick up at least a point from their match against Rosenborg BK in Norway.
