Known as 'the Iron Mountain' in his homeland, and 'the Iceberg' in Belgium, the 29-year-old scored 12 goals in 101 league games over four seasons with Anderlecht but decided against renewing his contract as he wanted to experience football in another country. Tihinen, capped 48 times by Finland, has been a regular in European club competition over the years and will hope to add to his tally when Zürich meet SV Austria Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round, with the legs scheduled for 26 July and 2 August.
