Belgian UEFA Champions League hopefuls R. Standard de Liège have signed Serbian left-sided midfielder Milan Jovanović on a three-year contract.
Friendly performances
The 25-year-old, who had been without a club since leaving Russian side FC Lokomotiv Moskva, impressed new Standard coach Johan Boskamp during a series of friendly appearances for the 2005/06 Belgian First Division runners-up, scoring four goals in four games.
Versatile player
Jovanović, who can play up front as well as on the wing, previously played in Serbia and Montenegro for FK Vojvodina and in Ukraine for FC Shakhtar Donetsk. His new team start their UEFA Champions League campaign in the third qualifying round.
