Giuly agrees Barça extension

FC Barcelona's French winger Ludovic Giuly will be putting pen to paper on a new contract which should keep him at the Camp Nou until the summer of 2008.

Signing-on ceremony
The Catalan club have revealed that Giuly – last capped by France in October 2005 and omitted from the FIFA World Cup squad – will sign the deal on Wednesday, adding 12 months to a contract due to expire in June 2007. The 29-year-old has won Primera División titles in each of his first two Camp Nou campaigns, since joining from AS Monaco FC in the summer of 2004.

Long service
He has made 59 Spanish league appearances, scoring 17 goals, to add to his long service with both Olympique Lyonnais FC and Monaco. By participating in Barça's UEFA Champions League triumph against Arsenal FC in Paris in May, Giuly erased the disappointment of losing the 2004 final with Monaco against FC Porto.
