Liverpool FC will be without Australia forward Harry Kewell for their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie over two legs on 8/9 and 22/23 August after he was diagnosed with septic arthritis, which is a bacterial infection, in his left foot.
Full recovery expected
"Harry is currently undergoing treatment in hospital following a surgical procedure," Liverpool said of the 27-year-old, who made three appearances for his country, scoring one goal, at the FIFA World Cup finals before succumbing to the complaint before the second-round tie against Italy. "He is expected to make a complete recovery and should be able to resume training in approximately six weeks' time."
