ACF Fiorentina have signed Romania forward Adrian Mutu from Juventus in a reported €8m deal that takes Bulgaria striker Valeri Bojinov in the opposite direction.

Title triumph
Mutu, 27, registered seven goals in 32 games for Juventus last season, helping the Bianconeri to the Scudetto in his first full campaign since returning to Italian football from Chelsea FC. Before leaving for England, Mutu had played under current Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli at Parma FC, as well as for FC Internazionale Milano and Hellas-Verona FC. He has appeared 45 times for Romania, scoring 18 goals.

Potenza arrival
He will be replaced at Juventus by 20-year-old Bojinov, capped eleven times at international level with two goals. He scored six times in 27 matches for the Viola last term after arriving from US Lecce in January 2005. Fiorentina have also recruited defender Alessandro Potenza on loan from Inter. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at RCD Mallorca after previous spells at Ancona Calcio, AC Chievo Verona and Parma.
