Real Madrid CF striker Ronaldo is to undergo minor knee surgery and will be out until 27 July. "Ronaldo's injury is like having a stone in your shoe. Sometimes it hurts and other times it doesn't, but it always comes back to annoy you," said Brazil José Luíz Runco.

Transatlantic tour
The operation will see a calcification around tendon in his knee, and will take place in Brazil with a Madrid doctor in attendance. He should be available for the first game of the Spanish side's pre-season tour of the USA, against Real Salt Lake on 12 August.
