Article body
Gabriel Ngalula Mbuyi 'Junior' has swapped one Belgian UEFA Champions League contender for another after leaving title-winners RSC Anderlecht for runners-up R. Standard de Liège.
Two years
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the option of an extra season, although no fee was revealed. The transfer sees Junior, whose brother Floribert is on the books of Manchester United FC, link up once more with Johan Boskamp after spending last season working under the Dutchman during a loan spell at Stoke City FC in England.
Qualifying
The former Belgian Under-21 international broke into the Anderlecht first team in 2001/02 yet managed just 21 league outings for Les Mauves. Standard enter the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round, while Anderlecht are one of 16 clubs automatically qualified for the group stage.
