Kuszczak bolsters United squad

Manchester United FC have signed Poland goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak from West Bromwich Albion FC on a one-year loan in exchange for two players.

Manchester United FC have signed Polish international goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak from West Bromwich Albion FC on a one-year loan in exchange for defender Paul McShane and goalkeeper Luke Steele.

Relegation fight
The 24-year-old Kuszczak, Poland's No2 behind Artur Boruc, is likely to fill the same role at United with Edwin van der Sar firmly established as Sir Alex Ferguson's first choice. Capped four times, the former Śląsk Wrocław and KFC Uerdingen 05 player joined West Brom from Hertha BSC Berlin in 2004 and went on to play 31 games for the Midlands club, suffering relegation from the Premiership last season.

Record sales
Another United goalkeeper, Ben Foster, has rejoined promoted Watford FC on a one-year loan, while the club have announced record season ticket sales of 64,000. United, who enter the UEFA Champions League in September's group stage, kick off their Premiership campaign on Sunday 20 August at home to Fulham FC.
