Gilardino gives Milan another year

Alberto Gilardino has added one year to his contract with UEFA Champions League contenders AC Milan, committing himself to the Rossoneri until June 2011.

Forward Alberto Gilardino has added one year to his contract with UEFA Champions League contenders AC Milan, committing himself to the Rossoneri until June 2011.

World champion
The 24-year-old joined Milan from Parma FC ahead of the 2005/06 season and scored 17 goals in 34 Serie A games during his first campaign with the Rossoneri. This term Gilardino, a FIFA World Cup winner with Italy in the summer, has yet to find the net in any competition but Milan have given him a timely confidence boost on a day he learned he had been omitted from the Italy national squad.
