FC Internazionale Milano could be without Hernán Crespo for their UEFA Champions League Group B game against FC Spartak Moskva on 18 October as the Argentine striker and Italy defender Fabio Grosso picked up left thigh injuries during Sunday's 1-1 draw at Cagliari Calcio.
Two weeks out
Crespo, who has scored three goals in five Serie A appearances this season, limped off after 33 minutes while Grosso, who struck his first goal for Inter in that match, was replaced by Luís Figo ten minutes into the second half. Both players underwent scans today and though neither injury is thought to be serious, both are expected to be out for the next two weeks.
Opening defeats
Grosso was already suspended for Inter's third Group B fixture against Spartak in Milan after being sent off against FC Bayern München on Matchday 2, and he is now likely to be joined on the sidelines by Crespo for that match. Inter are bottom of the section after kicking off their campaign with defeats against Sporting Clube de Portugal and Bayern. Grosso has also been forced to pull out of Italy's squad to play Ukraine and Georgia in UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying.
