Fauvergue out of AEK fixture

LOSC Lille Métropole striker Nicolas Fauvergue's calf injury has ruled him out of his side's forthcoming UEFA Champions League game against AEK Athens FC.

LOSC Lille Métropole's France Under-21 striker Nicolas Fauvergue is out of his club's forthcoming UEFA Champions League game against AEK Athens FC after sustaining a calf injury last weekend.

Athens absence
The forward, who equalised for Lille in their 1-1 draw at RSC Anderlecht on Matchday 1, was released earlier this week from France's squad for the UEFA European U21 Championship qualifying play-off against Israel and could be sidelined for a sustained period also including the Group H trip to Athens on 1 November. "Fauvergue will be unavailable for three to six weeks," the Ligue 1 side stated on Friday. The towering 21-year-old was injured after scoring the only goal of Lille's 1-0 win against OGC Nice on 30 September.
