FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Vladyslav Vaschuk has suffered a knee injury on his return to first-team action and now faces at least another month on the sidelines after having to undergo surgery.
'Right knee jammed'
The 31-year-old Ukrainian international had made one previous appearance this season due to injuries before starting Dynamo's Ukrainian Cup tie against FC Kharkiv on Wednesday night. Vaschuk lasted only 12 minutes of the game, which Dynamo won 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals, after his "right knee jammed". Following an operation to the joint on Thursday, he said: "I should be back in light training in a week and will be back in full training by the end of the year."
