FC Internazionale Milano will have to do without Julio Cruz for their push to reach the UEFA Champions League knockout stage.
The Argentinian striker suffered knee ligament damage during the Serie A leaders' 1-0 win against Reggina Calcio on Sunday and, following a scan today, has been ruled out of action for six weeks. The 32-year-old, who was replaced by Adriano after seven minutes of the weekend fixture at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, will miss the rest of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The Nerazzurri are second in Group B a point ahead of Sporting Clube de Portugal, who they face tomorrow, and four behind FC Bayern München, who they meet on 5 December. Cruz has scored twice in five Serie A appearances and three times in two UEFA Champions League games this season. Serie A will have its winter break from 23 December, with Inter resuming with a 14 January trip to Torino Calcio.
