Initial prognosis
The Brazilian limped off after 78 minutes of Milan's 1-0 loss in the Greek capital, when he was replaced by Australian international Zeljko Kalac, and the Rossoneri today issued a statement indicating an initial prognosis of "a two or three-month absence unless there are further complications". The 33-year-old, who has been ever-present for Milan this term, will undergo further tests in the next few days.
Group winners
Despite losing 1-0 to AEK, Milan were confirmed as Group H winners on Tuesday. They lead second-placed AEK by three points with a game to play and have a superior head-to-head record. If sidelined for as long as three months, Dida would face a race to be fit for Milan's first knockout round tie, the first leg of which will be played on 20 February next year.
