French Under-21 international defender Peter Franquart has signed a two-year extension to his contract at LOSC Lille Métropole.

New deal
The 21-year-old's original deal was due to expire in June 2008 but he has now extended his stay with the French club until 2010. A product of the side's academy system, he has made nine senior appearances for Lille, scoring his first goal in a 2-0 League Cup win against AS Saint-Etienne last season. Lille take on Manchester United FC in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round in the spring.
