Louis Saha has agreed a one-year extension to his contract at Manchester United FC which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2010.

'Great news'
The 28-year-old French international striker, who joined United from Fulham FC in January 2004, has had problems with injuries in the past but has carved out a real niche in the starting lineup since returning to the team in November 2005. "It's great news," said Saha. "I'm really enjoying my time here and I wanted to show my commitment to Manchester United, but also repay the faith that [manager] Sir Alex [Ferguson] has shown in me."

'It bodes well'
Sir Alex added: "I'm delighted we have extended Louis's contract. We are happy to see Louis here until at least 2010 and to add him to the other players who have recently signed new contracts like Cristiano [Ronaldo] and Wayne [Rooney] but also to the new additions such as Patrice [Evra] and Nemanja [Vidić]. It bodes well for the future. Louis' form has been fantastic since he has come back from injury and he has scored 26 goals in that time."
