Curro Torres facing fitness race

Valencia CF will be without full-back Curro Torres for up to five weeks with a knee ligament injury.

Ligament damage
The 26-year-old Spanish international left the field before half-time in Saturday's match and has been diagnosed with ligament damage, although club doctor Jordi Candel said he would not require surgery.

Race to be fit
Curro Torres is therefore expected to miss the Spanish champions' next four league matches and faces a race to be back in time for the next UEFA Champions League match, away at AS Roma on 18 February. He will definitely miss Spain's friendly against Germany earlier in the month.

Reveillère interest
Curro Torres' injury comes just as Valencia are looking for cover in the right-back position, with their preferred choice the Stade Rennais FC defender Anthony Reveillère. Youngster Javi Garrido will deputise for Curro Torres in the meantime.
