As they prepare for the second leg of their UEFA Champions league Round of 16 tie with Real Madrid CF, FC Bayern München have shown their hand for next season with the signing of Argentinian midfielder José Ernesto Sosa from Club Estudiantes de la Plata.
The 21-year-old playmaker has signed a four-year contract starting this summer for a reported €10m in a position Bayern have been seeking to fill all season. "I am very pleased that we have reached an agreement and am looking forward to the new challenge", Sosa said. Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness added: "He is a tricky midfielder."
Having scored ten goals in 124 league outings for Estudiantes, Sosa won his first and to date only cap for Argentina when they drew 1-1 with Mexico in March 2005. Bayern welcome Madrid tomorrow trailing their tie 3-2.
