Sporting Clube de Portugal have signed Brazilian right-back Pedro Silva from SC Corinthians for an undisclosed fee.

Previous experience
"I was expecting to stay at Corinthians until the end of my contract but when I heard about Sporting's interest I could not wait to come here," said the 26-year-old, who previously played in the Liga for A. Académica de Coimbra in 2005/06. "I'll do my best to help the team, and will even be looking to score a few goals. I can play at full-back on either side, or even on the wing." The Lions will compete in the UEFA Champions League group stage this season after finishing second in Portugal last term.
