Pride
"To be given the captaincy of Celtic is a tremendous honour," said 24-year-old academy gradute McManus, who succeeds Neil Lennon following his departure for Nottingham Forest FC. "It is undoubtedly one of the highlights of my career so far. I'm proud to follow in the footsteps of so many great Celtic captains from the past and I hope that I will be able to achieve as much success as they have over the years." Scottish champions Celtic will discover their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round opponents when the draw is made in Nyon on Friday.
