FC Porto have paid €6.65m to acquire the remaining 50 per cent of Argentina midfielder Lucho González's playing rights.

Improved deal
The 26-year-old arrived at the northern Portuguese club from CA River Plate in summer 2005, and last November penned an improved contract tying him to the Estadio do Dragão until 2011. Lucho has scored 19 Liga goals in 60 appearances over two seasons at Porto, both of which ended in title glory. Porto, who will play in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, also announced they had rejected an approach from English UEFA Cup challengers Everton FC for the player.
