Valencia CF have added height to their forward line by signing two metre-tall striker Nikola Žigić from Real Racing Club Santander.
The 26-year-old has moved to Valencia for a fee thought to be in the region of €20m, having agreed a contract until 2012. Serbian international Žigić joined Racing from FK Crvena Zvezda last summer and scored eleven goals in 32 Primera División appearances. He had been even more prolific with FK Crvena Zvezda, with 46 strikes in 79 games for the Belgrade club.
Valencia, who have also signed Alexis Ruano, Timo Hildebrand, Iván Helguera, Javier Arizmendi and Sunny Obayan this summer, begin their UEFA Champions League campaign on Tuesday at home to third qualifying round opponents IF Elfsborg.
