Valenciennes go for unsettled Šebo

Rangers FC striker Filip Šebo has agreed to move to Valenciennes FC on a loan deal for the remainder of the season after falling out of favour at the Glasgow club.

Rangers FC striker Filip Šebo has agreed to move to French outfit Valenciennes FC on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

Out of favour
The 23-year-old Slovakian, who has scored five times in four international appearances for his country, has been out of favour with Rangers, not featuring for the Scottish Premier League club at all so far since the start of the new campaign after falling behind summer signings Jean-Claude Darcheville and Daniel Cousin in the pecking order at the UEFA Champions League hopefuls. "Having a slightly bigger group than last year means we have to watch that we don't get frustration from the boys that are not playing," said manager Walter Smith. "So if some clubs come along for one or two of the boys then we will consider what they have to say."

Valenciennes chance
Signed from FK Austria Wien for €2.6m in August 2006, Šebo has found the net just twice in 24 league appearances at Ibrox. He joins a Valenciennes team seventh in Ligue 1 after their opening four games and is likely to make his debut on Saturday when they host FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
