Consistent performer
The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international started his European career at K. Lierse SK and scored eleven goals in his only season with the Belgian side. He then moved to the Netherlands, signing for Roda JC, where he scored 27 goals in 63 league games. In August 2005 he joined PSV and went on to score 21 goals in 53 Eredivisie games. Koné won the league title with PSV last term and played an integral role in their UEFA Champions League campaign, scoring twice in nine European games. He has made 25 international appearances to date and scored seven times.
