Dynamo capture French prospect

FC Dynamo Kyiv have signed young French midfielder Chahir Belghazouani but defender Pape Diakhaté has been sidelined after he broke his shoulder.

FC Dynamo Kyiv have signed midfielder Chahir Belghazouani from French second division side Grenoble Foot 38, the youngster signing an undisclosed long-term deal for the UEFA Champions League contenders.

Diakhaté blow
Dynamo beat the transfer deadline to seal the transfer of the 20-year-old Frenchman, who has appeared for his country at youth level and played 49 times for Grenoble over four seasons. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian side will be without Senegalese defender Pape Diakhaté for their opening UEFA Champions League group games after the summer signing from AS Nancy-Lorraine broke his shoulder during their 2-0 league win against FC Kharkiv on Saturday. The club, who were drawn in the same section as AS Roma, Manchester United FC and Sporting Clube de Portugal, do not know when Diakhaté will return.
