FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Pape Diakhate may be out of action for several months after breaking his collarbone just weeks after joining the Ukrainian champions from AS Nancy-Lorraine.

Corrective surgery
The 23-year-old underwent corrective surgery on Tuesday after incurring the injury during Saturday's 2-0 win against FC Kharkiv, but the club are not sure how long it will take the Senegalese international to recover.

United target
"It is very difficult to give any exact date for when he might return," read an official statement. "He will be discharged from hospital on Friday and will then go though a two-week rehabilitation programme." Dynamo start their UEFA Champions League campaign at AS Roma on 19 September but Diakhate is not expected to be fit before the Matchday 4 trip to Manchester United FC.
