Miguel extends Mestalla stay

Valencia CF defender Luis Miguel has spoken of his delight after extending his contract at the Primera División outfit until 2012.

Valencia CF right-back Luis Miguel has committed his future to the UEFA Champions League hopefuls after extending his contract until June 2012.

Contract joy
The 27-year-old Portugal international, who joined Valencia in 2005 following five seasons at SL Benfica, added two years to his old deal which was due to expire in 2010. He said: "I have signed for another two years and I hope things go well for me during that time. I’m very happy because it was both in Valencia’s and my interest for me to stay here." Miguel helped Los Ché win 1-0 against FC Schalke 04 on Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League.
