Liverpool FC winger Jermaine Pennant is one of eight players suspended for Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League.
One match
Pennant was dismissed during Liverpool's 1-1 draw away to FC Porto on Matchday 1 for two bookable offences, and serves a one-match ban for the visit to Anfield of Olympique de Marseille. Also unavailable for action is PSV Eindhoven midfielder Dirk Marcellis, who completes the second instalment of a two-match suspension, following his red card against Liverpool in the second leg of last season's quarter-final tie.
Inter absences
Marcellis's team-mate Mike Zonneveld will also sit out the latter game of a two-match ban when PSV travel to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to face FC Internazionale Milano. Meanwhile, Inter must cope without South American duo Julio Cruz and Iván Córdoba for the match against the Dutch champions as the pair serve the final games of their respective suspensions. Inter's Maicon and Nicolás Burdisso still have two and five matches of their respective bans to serve following incidents against Valencia CF last season. Striker Fred, meanwhile, will sit out the second game of his three-match sanction when Olympique Lyonnais host Rangers FC.
