Rosenborg BK and defender Miika Koppinen will part company at the end of the Norwegian league season, with the Finland player poised to rejoin rivals Tromsø IL on a three-year contract.

Contract rebel
Koppinen had featured throughout Rosenborg's UEFA Champions League campaign, including two qualifying rounds and the opening two Matchdays, before being dropped after refusing a new contract offer. He was the Trondheim team's scorer in their 1-1 group stage draw at Chelsea FC in September.

Back to the future
The 29-year-old, whose last appearance for Rosenborg came against Odd Grenland on 7 October, has now accepted a deal with his old Tippeligaen side, Tromsø, lasting until the end of 2010. "This move felt right for me," said Koppinen, who played 121 league games for his future employers before leaving for Rosenborg in 2005. "I look forward to being back at Tromsø." Rosenborg finish their domestic season against Ålesunds FK on 3 November.
