FC Dynamo Kyiv have handed a vote of confidence to their homegrown midfielder Olexandr Aliyev by extending the player's contract until the end of 2009.

FC Dynamo Kyiv have handed a vote of confidence to homegrown midfielder Olexandr Aliyev by extending the player's contract until the end of 2009.

'I am good enough'
The move represents a show of faith in Aliyev, who has made only one Ukrainian Premier League appearance this season and none in the UEFA Champions League. "I am staying with Dynamo," said the 22-year-old. "I have signed the new deal and am ready to show I am good enough for this team."

Under-21 star
Aliyev caught the eye in the Ukraine side that reached the final of the 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. In total, he has played eleven league games for Dynamo and eight while on loan at FC Metalurh Zaporizhya.
