Chelsea FC manager Avram Grant has signed a four-year contract to strengthen his position at the Premier League club.

Chelsea confirmation
The 52-year-old former Israel coach took the reins on 20 September directly after José Mourinho's departure and has lost only one game since – a 2-0 defeat at Manchester United FC in his first match in charge. "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Avram Grant has signed a four-year contract as manager/first-team coach," Chelsea said on their website.

Unbeaten sequence
Grant, who was joined on the bench at Stamford Bridge by assistant coach and former AFC Ajax boss Henk ten Cate in October, has subsequently overseen a 16-game unbeaten run. Chelsea have duly climbed to third place in the Premier League, three points behind leaders Arsenal FC – whom they visit on Sunday – while also winning their UEFA Champions League group with one match to spare. Grant arrived at Chelsea as technical director last July, having filled a similar position at another English top-flight team, Portsmouth FC.
