FC Barcelona have agreed a €500,000 deal to take goalkeeper José Manuel Pinto on loan from RC Celta de Vigo for the rest of the season, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Keeper cover
The Blaugrana, who face Celtic FC in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round next month, have moved for 32-year-old Pinto as cover for Víctor Valdés after reserve keeper Albert Jorquera sustained a serious knee injury playing for a Catalonia XI over Christmas. Pinto has made 181 league appearances for Celta in ten seasons in Galicia, also gaining experience in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup. He said: "I didn't have to think twice because to play for Barcelona is a unique opportunity. I've come to one of the biggest clubs in the world and am really determined to play my part."
