Olympiacos CFP have held on to four key players after goalkeeper Antonios Nikopolidis, skipper Predrag Djordjević, defender Anastasios Pantos and midfielder Ieroklis Stoltidis all agreed new contracts.
Commitment
The experienced quartet had only six months left on their existing deals but have decided to prolong their careers with the Piraeus club. Greece keeper Nikopolidis, 36, and former Serbia playmaker Djordjević, 35, have signed on until June 2009. Djordjević has been with the Greek title-holders since 1996, with Nikopolidis having arrived from Panathinaikos FC in 2004.
Recruitment drive
Meanwhile, Pantos, 31, and Stoltidis, 32, will stay at Olympiacos till at least the summer of 2010. Olympiacos have also recruited midfielders Fernando Belluschi and Mirnes Sisič, from CA River Plate and Levadiakos FC respectively, this transfer window. Second in the Hellenic Super League, Panagiotis Lemonis's team will play Chelsea FC in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round.
