FC Internazionale Milano captain Javier Zanetti will finish his career with the Nerazzurri after extending his contract until June 2011.

'My family'
The 34-year-old Argentinian international, whose previous deal was set to expire in 2009, joined Inter in 1995 from CA Banfield in his homeland and inherited the captain's armband from Nerazzurri legend Giuseppe Bergomi four years later. "Inter are my family," said the versatile defender who will turn 35 on 10 August. "I cannot think about my future without Inter. I want to thank [Inter president Massimo] Moratti and the club for always showing faith in me. Inter have given a lot to me and I am proud of being part of this team." Zanetti has scored 12 goals in 425 league appearances for Inter, winning three Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias, two Italian Supercups and the UEFA Cup in 1998 – when he scored in the 3-0 final success against domestic rivals S.S. Lazio. Inter will enter the UEFA Champions League in the group stage which gets underway on 16/17 September.
