Inter agree swap deal

Internazionale FC and AC Parma have agreed an exchange involving Domenico Morfeo and Sabri Lamouchi.

Internazionale FC and AC Parma have agreed an exchange deal involving Domenico Morfeo and Sabri Lamouchi.

Two-year loan
French international midfield player Lamouchi, who has won 12 caps for his country, will move to Milan on a two-year loan, while Morfeo will join Parma for the same length of time.

International experience
The 31-year-old Lamouchi arrived at Parma in 2000 after winning the championship with AS Monaco FC, whom he had joined from AJ Auxerre. Lamouchi made 90 appearances in his three seasons at the Stadio Tardini. "I am extremely happy with this transfer because I know that next year I will be able to play to win trophies," he said.

European challenge
The 27-year-old Morfeo joined the Nerazzurri last summer from AC Fiorentina and played eight matches in the UEFA Champions League, scoring one goal. However, the creative midfield player appeared in only half of Inter's Serie A games, and will be hoping for more first-team opportunities at Parma.

Near misses
Inter finished second in Serie A in 2002/03 behind champions Juventus FC and came within a single goal of reaching the Champions League final before being eliminated by city rivals and eventual winners AC Milan on away goals in the semi-final. Parma claimed fifth place in the final league table and will play in next season's UEFA Cup.
