Dortmund bring in Dane

BV Borussia Dortmund have signed Danish international defender Niclas Jensen from Manchester City FC.

Terms undisclosed
Jensen, who had a year remaining on his City contract, travelled to Dortmund's training base in the Austrian town of Irding to discuss personal terms, and has signed a three-year deal.

Fills the gap
The arrival of the 28-year-old full-back will compensate for the departures of Jörg Heinrich – who has joined 1. FC Köln - and Juan Ramón Fernández, the latter having refused to return to the club from his home in Argentina.

'Good left foot'
Dortmund's sporting director, Michael Zorc, said of Jensen: "He is experienced and has got a very good left foot." Jensen joined City 18 months ago from FC København and made 48 league appearances during his time at the club.

'No way back'
Dortmund, meanwhile, have contacted FIFA about Fernández and requested that the player be suspended. Zorc said: "He has made his choice and there is no way back for him."
