The 27-year old joins Djurgården from RBC Roosendaal where he has scored 29 goals in 61 games over the past two seasons. "We're very pleased that we've been able to sign Van Ouden," said Djurgården chairman Bo Lundqvist.

Van Ouden also expressed his delight with the transfer, saying: "It's a good club in a nice town. They won the double last year and are on their way to Europe, which is something I'm looking forward to." Djurgården begin their 2003/04 UEFA Champions League campaign in the second qualifying round with a tie against FK Partizan.
