Maccabi Haifa FC have suffered another injury blow after MRI scans confirmed that the groin injury midfielder Gustavo Boccoli suffered in training will rule him out for four to six weeks.

Ever-present
The Brazilian-born 31-year-old missed his side's 1-0 league win against FC Ashdod on Monday and is now expected to be absent for Haifa's remaining UEFA Champions League Group A games, away at FC Bayern München and at home against FC Girondins de Bordeaux, having played in the first four.

Stricken midfielders
Coach Elisha Levi is already without fellow midfielders Jhon Jairo Culma and Eyal Golasa through injury; the former is on the mend after a hamstring pull sustained against Juventus on Matchday 4 while Golasa is recovering from a groin operation. With no points after four games, Haifa cannot qualify for the first knockout phase, but still have an outside chance of gaining a UEFA Europa League round of 32 place.
