FC Zürich will be without Johan Vonlanthen for their UEFA Champions League Group C fixture against Real Madrid CF on Wednesday because of a thigh tear, although two other injured players have resumed training.

Recovered duo
Vonlanthen, 23, has not played since being substituted nine minutes into the 6-1 defeat by Olympique de Marseille on Matchday 4 and requires another two weeks to recover, making him doubtful for the visit of AC Milan on 8 December. There was better news, however, for coach Bernard Challandes, who can now call upon defender Philippe Koch and midfielder Silvan Aegerter. The latter used the international break to recover from an adductor strain he suffered against Marseille, while Koch has overcome a ligament problem in his left ankle. Zürich are bottom of Group C and must defeat second-placed Madrid in the Spanish capital to revive their fading hopes of reaching the last 16.
